Privacy policy

Residays helps you count the days you spend in each country and see how published tax residency rules apply to them. It is run by EZBUDDY BOOKING TECHNOLOGY SERVICES, a business registered in Malaysia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it and the choices you have. It covers the website at tax.liongkj.com, the Residays mobile apps and the Residays connector for AI apps.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google account ID, name and profile picture from Google. We don’t use passwords: you sign in with a code we email you, or with Google.
- Your travel and answers. The trips you add (countries, dates, how you travelled), the countries you follow, your home country, your answers to residency questions and your reminder settings.
- What you send us to import. Booking emails you forward to your private import address, and screenshots or files you upload, together with the trip details we read from them.
- Your conversations with the assistant. What you write to the in-app assistant, the images you attach and its replies.
- Payments. If you buy Premium, Stripe handles the payment. We keep a record of what you bought, when, and Stripe’s customer and payment IDs. We never see or store your card details.
- Connected AI apps. If you connect Residays to an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT, we keep the app’s name and the access you granted it, so you can see and disconnect it in Settings.
- Technical data. Your IP address and request details, used to keep the service secure, stop abuse (for example, limiting sign-in attempts) and fix errors. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for a short time.
- Crash reports. When the mobile app crashes, it may send a crash report through Firebase Crashlytics: the device model, operating system version, app version and what the app was doing. It does not include your trips or messages.
Your location
The mobile app can use your approximate location, only while it is open and only if you allow it, to suggest which country you are in today. Your phone turns the location into a country, and the mobile network’s country can stand in when there is no location. Your location never leaves your device. Only a trip, if you choose to save one, is sent to us. You can turn this off in Settings or in your phone’s settings.
How we use it
- To run the service: count your days, apply each country’s rules and show you the results.
- To read trips from the emails, screenshots and files you send us, which you confirm before they’re saved.
- To answer you through the assistant.
- To email you sign-in codes, the residency reminders you turned on and notices about your plan.
- To take payments and know which plan you’re on.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to prevent abuse.
We don’t sell your data, show you ads or use your data to train AI models. We use it because you asked us to provide the service, to meet our legal obligations, and where needed with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
AI processing
Reading imports and running the assistant uses Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. The content involved (for example a forwarded email, a screenshot or your message) is sent through Cloudflare AI Gateway to Anthropic, which processes it to produce a reply and does not use it to train its models. AI can make mistakes, so trips read by AI wait for you to confirm them.
Who helps us
We share data only with the providers that run parts of Residays for us, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage, email delivery and AI Gateway.
- Anthropic: the Claude AI model, for imports and the assistant.
- Stripe: payments.
- Google: “Continue with Google” sign-in, and Firebase Crashlytics in the mobile app.
- AI apps you connect: when you connect an AI app, it can read your trips and residency information, and if you allow changes, add planned trips for you to confirm. You can disconnect it at any time.
These providers may process data outside Malaysia, including in the United States and Singapore. We rely on their contractual commitments to protect it. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded screenshots and forwarded emails: 30, 90 or 365 days, as you choose in Settings. Trips you saved from them stay.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sign-in sessions: up to 180 days after last use.
- Reminders we’ve sent: 1 year.
- Your account and everything in it: until you delete it. Accounts unused for 24 months are deleted automatically, unless Premium is still active.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your information in the app at any time. In Settings you can export all your data or delete your account, which deletes your trips, answers, uploads and assistant conversation. You can also turn off reminder emails and disconnect AI apps. Depending on where you live (for example under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 or the UK and EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To ask, email hello@tax.liongkj.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and store a few preferences on your device. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting provider. Access is limited to what the service needs. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
Children
Residays is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and if the change is significant we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
